Strange Occurences

As Naruto was walking through the streets of Konoha, from the corner of his eye, he thought he saw Sasuke. Immediately, in that same Naruto way, he freaks out, and runs screaming at the top of his lungs toward the image of his lost friend. But by the time he had reached where he thought he had seen him, Sasuke is no longer in view from there. But of course, Naruto decides to continue searching, as he's totally convinced that Sasuke has returned to the village.

Turning to decide which way to search, a strange sinking sensation suddenly comes over him. It could be a craving for ramen, but Naruto soon realizes that it's actually the fact that one hundred feet in front of him, Ino is strapped to the Konoha flag pole, blood oozing from her neck and stomach from where kunai and shuriken had impaled her. Naruto stares in wonder at the image in front of him, but soon realizes that it's actually real. Yamanaka Ino is dead. "NOOOOOOO," Naruto's screaming goes unnoticed by the people of the village, who seem overly apathetic toward the death of one of Konoha's genin, many of whom are clutching their shoulder as if in pain. Naruto's scream continues for a full minute when his throat dries up and he finally realizes that he should console Sakura, who would have to be hurting. Of course, the thought had crossed his mind that doing this would bring him closer to becoming her boyfriend, but his intentions were generally noble. He heads off to Tsunade's office to find her.

On his way, as he passes through an alley next to the main Konoha dojo, he sees Kabuto directly in front of him. Running forward to fight him, he hears through the wall of the dojo, "Two Hundred Fifty Six Hits!!" and suddenly TenTen flies through the wall of the dojo and hits the ground at monstrous speed. TenTen lies on the ground, faintly breathing, while Neji steps out from the broken wall, his forehead protector falls off of his head and clanks on the ground to reveal the Hyuuga cursed seal, which has a strange new symbol on top of it, which Naruto recognized from Kimimaro's chest. All over his body, the black markings, which were covering him, start to spread all over his body, changing his skin color. Naruto wonders for a second why the same things that happened to Sasuke at the Hokage waterfall were happening to Neji, but that feeling is overwhelmed when the newly Level Two Cursed Seal Neji rips TenTen's heart from her chest and throws it at the wall of the dojo, where, Naruto can just barely make out through the wall, Guy-sensei is hanging, crucified upside down. While licking the blood from his fingers, Neji smiles maliciously and says to Naruto, "You won't beat me next chuunin exam."

Horrified, Naruto suddenly feels the call of duty, since he had just seen Kabuto seconds before, and runs off out of the alley. But by that time, Kabuto was long gone, so Naruto again runs toward Tsunade's office. He stops only briefly, when he passes the ramen shop and sees an unusual site. On the entrance to the shop, a sign that says "Closed Indefinitely" is posted, and against the wall, unable to move, sit Chouji and his new eating buddy, Rock Lee. Lee is slightly drunk, extremely fat, and muttering something indistinct to himself, but when he sees Naruto he explains his situation, "I wuz gonna train wen I met dis guy here and he, he's the best!, convized me to quit ninja-in' an so I's jus gonna eats." Tears start to come from Naruto's eyes; he had lost his favorite food and his ninja idol in the same minute. But there wasn't time for this, so he runs off to report everything to Tsunade and find Sakura.

Passing by the residential district, he sees Jiraya and Konohamaru training. Jiraya tells him that he's found a better student and he's not going to train Naruto anymore. Then Konohamaru uses Rasengan on a rock. Disillusioned, Naruto runs off. Outside the Hokage office building, he sees Kakashi-sensei, and shouts to him, having decided to explain the situation to him first, "Hey! Kakashi! Some strange stuff is going on! We need to." His shouts are cut off as Kabuto strikes Kakashi at the heart with his medical technique, and Kakashi falls to the ground struggling to breathe and slowly dying. That is, he was slowly dying until Kabuto pulled the sword from Kakashi's back and decapitated him, laughing all the while. Naruto, slowly releasing Kyuubi chakra, races toward Kabuto, who quickly flees leaving the entrance to Tsunade's office directly in front of Naruto.

The rage subsides quickly as Naruto reaches the door, because he fears that Tsunade would punch him if she saw his demon fox chakra leaking, and that hurts.a lot. He opens the door to her office and shouts, "Hey Granny Tsunade." and then realizes that she's standing behind him, filled with killing intent. He quickly turns and notices Tsunade's long tongue and snake eyes, which kind of creeps him out. He tells her about Kakashi and asks why Jiraya is training Konohamaru. Tsunade says, "Hold that thought," in a snakelike, male voice and leaves the room. A few minutes later, she reenters and hands Naruto Konohamaru's head. "I talked to them, and they decided that they wouldn't train anymore. Oh, and Sakura said she'll wait for you in the Forest of Death to train." As Naruto leaves the office, he catches a glimpse of Sarutobi, but feels relieved when he sees that it's only his head mounted on the wall of the office. At least he wasn't seeing ghosts. Outside the office there are an abnormal number of bugs that seem to have collected to pick away pieces of Kakashi's body. However, while Naruto fights his way through the swarms, he sees that Kakashi's body is almost entirely devoured and across from it lays Kiba, lifeless on the ground while Akamaru, in Kiba form for only a few seconds of the glimpse, gnaws on his jugular. In the distance, Shino laughs eerily while standing on Hinata's body, which seems to have both claw marks and numerous bug bites. Naruto, partially scared, partially confused, was about to confront Shino when in the distance, he heard "Katon: Goukakyuu no Jutsu," in the unmistakable voice of Uchiha Sasuke. Immediately, Naruto forgets everything that has happened and rushes in the direction of the loud explosion that followed; it just happened to be on the way to the Forest of Death. The view of the village drastically changes in the few hundred yards he runs as the buildings are more and more burnt, until Naruto finally reaches ground zero. A body is tied tight to a large tree just inside the gate of the Forest of Death. Most of the corpse's skin was burnt off, except for the only recognizable part, a long scar across the nose, indicating Iruka-sensei. Naruto begins to sob, but is halted by the sound of sobbing coming from the other side of the tree.

Walking to the other side, he sees Sasuke in Level Two Cursed Seal sobbing uncontrollably. Under his breath, he mutters, "Naruto, I'm sorry." Just then, Naruto looks past Sasuke to see Sakura lying on the ground with three Chidori holes through her chest. "Orochimaru wants me to have Mangekyou, so I had to kill her." Naruto feels overwhelmed, until from behind him, he hears Orochimaru's voice. Turning to curse him out face to face, he sees Tsunade's body with Orochimaru's face and eyes. Orochimaru laughs with his snake-like voice and says, "Now Sasuke's ready for me." Naruto feels the Kyuubi chakra flowing out of the seal uncontrollably. His chakra engulfs his entire body and the Demon Fox takes over. The power keeps increasing and Naruto loses control. Suddenly, Itachi appears in front of him and says, "Finally, you're at the level we need. NARUTO!!" And he opens his eyes to perform Tsukiyomi.

"Naruto! Naruto!" Naruto wakes up in his bed to see Kakashi's Sharingan eye right next to his face. "AHH!" Naruto shouts as Kakashi jumps backward and lands on the windowsill, crouching to keep balance. "What's going on here?!?!" "I don't know," Kakashi replies, "I felt the Demon Fox chakra all the way from the Hidden Sand Village and rushed back as fast as I could. You know Naruto, I told you not to eat ramen before going to sleep!"
