Naruto Episode 104 Run, Idate! The Stormy, Trouble-Filled Nagi Island!

We are still at Nagi Island where Idate faces the shinobi of the Hidden Rain by the name of Aoi. Aoi is insulting Idate, calling him a traitor, an egoist, a selfish person who only thinks of himself and who abandoned his own brother and village. He says that he and Idate are the same kind of person, the kind who doesn't trust other people, and betrays them. Aoi comes to the conclusion that Idate has to be killed and attacks him with needles. Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke are still on their way to Nagi Island, as they swim they are overheard by the 3 other guys from the Hidden Rain, the genin whom we know of from the Chuunin Exam. The Hidden Rain guys attack Naruto while he is talking about Idate being in danger and pull him underneath the surface. Underwater they have the advantage because they are wearing some kind of underwater breathing apparatice. At first Sakura thinks Naruto is fooling around but Sasuke figures out pretty fast that they are being attacked and dives down to save naruto. The 3 of them are pulled down by miso bunshins of the enemy and Naruto is using his Kage bunshin-jutsu and his Rasengan to create a vortex. The vortex causes the miso bunshin (water clones) to disappear. The enemies are sucked down by the vortex, so is Sakura who is weakened by the wound she got from them earlier but Naruto saves her. They're finally at the shore of Nagi island but it seems as if Sakura has swallowed too much water. She wakes and recognizes Sasuke by her side and decides to play unconscious to recieve a kiss, but instead of Sasuke, Naruto wants to perform CPR. Realizing this, Sakura freaks out and hits him. Idate is seriously injured and in pain but is still alive. Aoi robbed Idate of any hope by informing him about the Wasaragi runner already has a headstart. Idate reaches for his knife and manages to grab it, but Aoi is still kicking and tormenting him. Just as Idate is about to give up Naruto and the others arrive, they confront Aoi. Well to be exact Naruto and Sasuke attack while Sakura takes care of Idate, the first attempt of an attack fails and they're pushed down by only the force Aoi uses by swinging his umbrella. Aoi now threatens to kill them and attacks with his needles again, he also tells them that they're poisoned by a venom called "toxic rain" and are fatal. Meanwhile, the Wasarabi runner has reached the Modoroki Shrine, the first station on the way to the goal. Aoi leaves them to die. The people that wait at the shrine are not very pleased about the Wasarabi being in the lead again. Sakura pulls out an antidote, given to her by Tsunade and gives it to Sasuke, Naruto and Idate, so they won't be overcome by the poison. We get to know more about Idates past, looks like on his graduation day he talked to his brother Ibiki about becoming a Chuunin. Ibiki lectures him about more important things than power or influence but at that time Idate didn't seem to understand. Idate wakes up and finds himself in a cave together with Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura who made a campfire. He now has to explain to them his acquaintance with Aoi. Idate told them that Aoi was his teacher back in Konoha and he betrayed the village and became a Jounin in the hidden village of the rain. Idate seems to have given up and Naruto is wondering if he's really a former Konoha shinobi so Idate tells them that, by abandoning Konoha he wanted to forget all about that place because he failed the Chuunin exam. He abandoned the village after Aoi tricked him into stealing the sword of Ranjin which was used by the 2nd Hokage. Aoi pressed Idate into leaving the village saying that because he stole the village's treasure they wouldn't let him off easily even if he returned. So the best way would be to come with Aoi to the Hidden Rain and become a Chuunin there. Naruto understood Idates feelings, way back in the academy no one believed in him except for Iruka. Seems Idate is in the same situation with boss Jiroucho so he wants him to continue and pulls him up reminding him of his goals and dreams. Meanwhile boss Jiroucho, the wasabi chief is waiting for Idate at the Modoroki shrine, he still believes in him. Naruto convinced Idate to continue the race.
