Friend or Foe Chapter 1

It was an average summer day in the Konoha Village. Tsunade checked over her scrolls of missions as a cool breeze passed by her window. Gaara sat next to her obseving them along with her. A jonin-level ninja dropped through the open window.

"Hokage, Kazekage, we have a problem" the ninja said. "Orochimaru has an army of 200 or more ninjas! They are marching towards the village as we speak. Sasuke does not appear to be within the army."

"Thank you Orion. would you please bring me Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru and Rock Lee?" said Tsunade. "But ma'am- Shouldn't we be sending Jonin instead of Chunin?" Orion began. "No. We must have as as many Jonin as we can." Tsunade explained. "But.." Orion began. "I will stay and fight. I can prove our friendship is more than words." Gaara interjected. "No. Absolutly not. In fact Naruto, Sakura, Rock Lee and Shikamaru are coming to secort you to the Sand village." Tsunade said, placing her fist on the table. Orion jumped out of the room.

Later that day, at a small hallway leading through the wall, Tsunade and Gaara waited. Shikamaru and Rock Lee arrived first. "Yo. So whats the mission this time?" Shikamaru asked. "We'll fill you in once Naruto and Sakura arrives." Tsunade explained. Shikamaru sighed. As if on cue, Naruto and Sakura apeared. "Gaara! Long time, no see!" Naruto said. "Your mission is to escort Gaara to The Sand Village. Protect him with your lives. He is the Kazekage, and our pact would be broken iff he was hurt. Shikamaru, you are assained plantoon leader." Shikamaru nodded and turned to his team. "Let's go" he said. They nodded. All of them disappeared except for Tsunade. "Good luck" she said as she trurned to face the oncoming war.
